The Calgary Folk Fest’s Block Heater promotional video was commissioned to bring the festival’s artwork into motion. Using poster and design elements created by artist Heather Buchanan, I transformed the visuals into a fully animated, dynamic piece. Each character and detail comes to life through animation, resulting in an energetic promotional video that captures the spirit of the festival and expands the original artwork into an engaging, immersive experience.

The original poster artwork was carefully translated into motion for this video. Each design element was individually graded, layered, and animated to preserve the playful, fun vibe of the original artwork. The process involved bringing static characters and details to life while staying true to the visual language of the poster, transforming it into a cohesive and dynamic promotional video.
