I created this promo using a mix of live footage, motion graphics, and the Calgary Folk Music Festival’s branding elements, including their campaign poster. The goal was to reflect the energy of the event while staying true to the festival’s visual identity. I handled the editing and animation, blending everything together into a dynamic piece that highlights the spirit of the festival. This version was also adapted for broadcast, airing on live TV as part of the festival’s promotional campaign.

Original Artwork to Animation

This video was created by working directly with the poster artwork by Sarah Slaughter, breaking it into multiple animated elements. Each piece was carefully integrated and animated so everything flows together naturally. The goal was to translate the illustrated poster artwork into motion in a way that feels dynamic, engaging, and alive, while enhancing the energy of the original designs.
